Maryam Nassir Zadeh is a New York-based fashion designer and retailer celebrated for her minimalist yet emotionally resonant designs. Born in Tehran in 1978, she relocated with her family to Southern California shortly after the Iranian Revolution. Raised in Los Angeles, she graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) with a degree in textiles. In the early 2000s, she launched a line of reworked vintage T-shirts, which gained attention from high-end retailers like Barneys New York and Maxfield .
