Obey is an American streetwear brand founded in 2001 by artist and designer Shepard Fairey. The brand grew out of Fairey’s earlier “Andre the Giant Has a Posse” street art campaign in 1989, which evolved into the Obey Giant project, blending art, activism, and visual culture. Obey merges contemporary fashion with Fairey’s provocative, politically-inspired artwork.
