Untitlab

Untitlab

THE CONCEPT

untitlab® is a footwear and accessories brand launched in 2019. The name untitlab® draws inspiration from the way artists title their works when the creations defy categorization. untitlab® is about experimentation, using references from the designers’ background and environment, innovative materials, radical silhouettes and conceptual visuals to push the boundaries of self-expression, allowing consumers to interpret, relate to, and style their products however they wish.

INTRO

untitlab® was co-founded by the Chinese creatives Sans, Nicolas and Zen. The brand is the result of their multidisciplinary work experience between art, fashion design, graphic design and marketing, across the UK, France and China.

PRODUCT AND DESIGN

untitlab®'s design philosophy is rooted in challenging conventional boundaries of professional and social attire by clashing references from different scenarios to create hybrid shoes with bold empowering silhouettes.

Elements from formal wear, sports, outdoor activities, and BDSM culture are mixed into classic footwear typologies, such as derby shoes, cowboy boots, loafers, sneakers, kitten heels and slides. All these features and categories are filtered through untitlab®’s signature aesthetic: contrasting geometric shapes, oversized soles and heels, and a sleek upper.  The result is a shoe that is both edgy and sexy, familiar yet out of the ordinary, full of attitude, but still versatile for different occasions.

Fit and comfort

Comfort is a top priority for us. Our uppers are designed with an extra margin of space on the length, adding room for the feet to breathe. Our soles come with a latex and bio-based midsole that provides ample support and cushioning, ensuring that you can wear them all day at ease. Additionally, our designs are not defined by gender, our shoes have extended sizes from 35 to 46, however the fit is adapted to men and women universal sizes.

Quality

We use high performance vegan leather materials that are both sustainable and long-lasting. Our shoes go through rigorous test procedures, for instance, our 50,000 times of bending test at minus 25 degrees to ensure durability,  and the 200,000 Wyzenbeek double rubs test, to certify that the material is abrasion-resistant.

Universal Colors

Universal Colors

Universal Colours challenges current conventions through progressive design and considerately sourced materials. As a forward-thinking brand, we are working with our partners to develop sustainable practices and create garments with a focus on originality, durability and responsibility. This is our mission: to bring cyclists some of the finest, considerately sourced performance apparel our industry has seen.

Universal Colours is a cycling apparel brand based out of London. Whilst our debut collection launched in the summer of 2020, early development began back in 2018 when our small team of keen cyclists came together to realise a vision: create a global performance brand with strong values, acknowledging cyclists see their clothing as an extension of their views and personality.

Universal Colours was created without compromise on originality, durability and responsibility.

As a brand, we seek to challenge ourselves and our partners. We evolve, adapt and constantly look outside of our industry for inspiration, be that outdoor, streetwear or high fashion. We pay homage to the changing seasons and consistent rides that look different year-round. As such, we view our collections as a continuation of our story, a new volume rather than a new season.

We are committed to changing the way cycling apparel is manufactured. The synergy between our core values and our factories and mills is imperative to our success. A collaborative approach allows us to adapt, progress and create the most carefully considered, high-quality product possible. We only work with factories internationally audited for social and environmental good practice, and this will never change.

Our collections include unisex pieces and we use the same colour palette across genders. Universal Colours encourages everyone to share the joy of cycling and invites individuals from all walks of life to join our community and connect through a mutual passion for sports and adventure.

This is our vision. This is Universal Colours.

Ugo Paulon

Ugo Paulon

Ugo Paulon is a purpose-led footwear project, utilising pre-existing and recycled materials as much as possible.

- The name Ugo Paulon originates from the merged usernames of different eBay sellers from whom some of the first vintage shoes were bought to be up-cycled -

To minimise the environmental impact of its production, is based on the simple philosophy; that restrictions drive innovation and creativity when they present a motivating challenge.

Ugo Paulon’s collections are based on the availability of dead stock and repurposed materials, much like its early prototypes were made from vintage shoes and second hand fabrics sourced on eBay.

Similar to ‘objet trouvé’ art pieces, Ugo Paulon’s characteristic aesthetics are influenced by this reversed design process.

The spiral present in the logo and prints is such a positive symbol of awareness, growth and change and is so universal across cultures and in nature. It also represent looking inwards and revisiting forgotten ressources within. Besides appearing in prints, the Ugo Paulon signature swirl has been rematerialised as a trim developed with sculptor and jeweller Freya Douglas Ferguson.
