K-Way

K-Way

One day I had an appointment in Paris and I was waiting at the Café de la Paix. It was a rainy day, I was sitting outside observing as people rushed by in their soaking wet clothes, with uncomfortable umbrellas in their hands.

I noticed a woman with two children passing by: the two children were wearing red nylon clothes, something original that I had never seen before. I picked up my notebook and wrote down: red nylon clothes. Then in the course of time I thought about it again, searched through my notes and told myself I had to do something about it.

Kwaidan Editions

Kwaidan Editions

The brand is rooted in Creative Director Léa Dickely’s personal experience of not recognising herself in traditional female stereotypes. Kwaidan Editions embodies the decision to leave these definitions behind, and instead explore what it looks and feels like for a woman to be truly unencumbered.

Established in 2017, Kwaidan Editions reinterprets ghosts of the past to express the uncanny present – the strange times we live in. Kwaidan Editions alludes to the eponymous occult film by Masaki Kobayashi (1965). By synthesizing disparate cultural references and unusual materials, Kwaidan Editions evokes the uncanny, supernatural atmosphere of the film.

Kusikohc

Kusikohc

KUSIKOHC is one of many creative outlets for Cho Giseok, a polymathic practitioner who has found success in photography, creative direction, sculpting, drawing, and more. Rooted in messages of community, identity, and reinvention, KUSIKOHC is steadfast in its message: “Right to Fail,” an animating principle based in freedom of expression.

“I believe challenge and endeavour themselves have the power to change at least small parts of something, even if they get failed. Therefore, we have the Right to Fail.” — Cho Giseok

Scouted for the Dazed 100 and with his work appearing in the likes of Vogue Korea, Hypebeast, i-D and more, plus collaborations with brands including Prada and Converse, Giseok continues to explore the beauty and complexities of an altogether surreal world through his work.

With KUSIKOHC, he presents another avenue of inquiry; the newest dimension to the creative world he is always expanding and refining. Through ground-up compositions, in which he oversees everything from clothing and art direction to photography itself, Giseok has built a uniquely nuanced channel through which to transmit his interpretation of gritty and trend-defining culture.

Kozaburo

Kozaburo

Brutal sensitivity means being brutal yet sensitive

Global individualism means interacting with others while placing emphasis on the individual

This concept forms the basis of Kozaburo Akasaka's creative philosophy and has become his way of expressing it.

A kind of journey to embody his spirituality

began as a story that went from expressing a clear boundary between the inside and outside of the individual to transcending them.

A wardrobe that serves as a bridge between the East and the West and allows people to travel between them.

A fleeting, hazy landscape of the fantastic Land of the Rising Sun, which does not exist anywhere, but resides in the romantic spirit of Akasaka .

The objects of thought are diverse, such as heroes and monks who influenced them, and

spread out like a vast ocean, sometimes rough and sometimes quiet. A

harmonious mind derived from the Buddhist doctrine of harmony and Ajikan.

"Wa" and "ma" hidden in the relationship between individuals.

Visualize emotions, draw them into a worldview, and add awareness to oneself and others.

Beyond that is the utopia that one imagines.

Kleman

Kleman

A shoemaker and bootmaker by trade, René Cléon joined the front lines during the Second World War. He was taken prisoner in 1940 during the Battle of France and spent 5 years in captivity in a Stalag in Germany, where he continued to model small leather shoes in his spare time. Probably hoping to be back soon to his homeland, the idea of launching his shoe manufacturing workshop is gradually growing.

At the end of the war in 1945, in the weeks following his return, he formed a team of apprentices and bought his first stitching and assembly machines. The story begins in the family home in La Romagne, with a specialization on Kneipp sewn mixed models, then the business grows and a factory is built. The sons Jacques and Louis-Marie took up the torch and diversified the activity in the 1970s -1980s.
