Artist Spotlight: Ceramic Artist Hannah Simpson.

Hannah Simpson Studio, was established in 2020 as a creative haven for the artist. For Hannah, creativity has long been a therapeutic outlet, allowing her to navigate and manage her emotions. At the heart of the studio's creations are the 'Monster' creatures series, conceptualised and brought to life by Hannah. These creatures, adorned with vibrant patterns and unique expressions, serve as tangible representations of a range of emotions, transforming them into approachable entities that bring solace to Hannah but also spread joy to others.

Motivated by the positive impact of her Monster creations, Hannah expanded her creative endeavours to include homeware items, particularly lamps and vases. Creations rooted in the belief that being surrounded by colourful, joyful shapes has profoundly positive effects, creating uplifting living spaces.

The artist describes working with ceramics as a challenging and rewarding experience that requires striking a delicate balance between control and
unpredictability. Through the intricate and time-consuming nature of each stage in the ceramic process, Hannah challenges her patience and expectations whilst candidly sharing her processes, wins and learnings.

A testament to the power of creativity and the significant benefits of artistic expression, Hannah Simpson aims to bring joy, resilience, and a sense of connection through both her process and her pieces.
